Summer Rain

It was summer before and it is monsoon now
Clouds are rumbling above and it’s raining slow
Trees and woods are ready for a shower,
so does lush grass and the fragrant flower
Walls, fences and facades are gearing up alright,
like strokes on canvas showing an artist’s might
Ponds, lakes and rivers are upbeat,
to welcome their family from sky in a spate
Sand and soil are waiting serenely,
to radiate a scent loved universally
Lightning and thunder rattle up there,
while a grandma and grandpa pray together

My little shihtzu was playing outdoors
Out I dashed to bring him indoors
We shook off the water breezing back in
Him, off the body and I, off the brolly akin
It’s pouring and clouds are rumbling above
Flora and fauna are bustling with love
Minutes passed into long winding hours
It struck four am at the city square clock towers
It’s still pouring hard into big and small puddles
It was summer before and it’s monsoon now
