Writer’s Block

A bottomless down,
to a prior sky-high up…
A tide that soared,
quietly crashed into shore…
Like the orange and purple horizon,
gobbling up the sun,
hour by hour,
just to devour…

Paper would stare,
pen wouldn’t dare,
Minutes would tick,
cursor would just blink;
There’s a moat between
them and you!

May you dare to jump,
might you build a bridge;
You can’t fail to hear,
their one anthem…
     write your mind,
     pen your heart…
     ink a line,
     write one word;
     write just anything.
     we are parched and dying.

Your heart and mind
plead in one tune;
You want to write,
     weaving word into word,
     sewing line to line;
But your mind is dense,
your thoughts are in a lull…

You’re crawling…
in the light of a spell,
yet you’re scared to tell;
You’re standing…
in the shadow of a heart,
yet you’re afraid of the dark.
